I’m Bianca Brown — a career litigator, public servant, and proud daughter of Cook County. For more than a decade, I’ve worked at every level of our legal system, from the courtroom to the community, representing the people, protecting their rights, and ensuring that justice is more than just a word — it’s a lived reality.
My journey began in the courtroom prosecuting hundreds of criminal cases for the City of Chicago, where I argued and prevailed in over 25 bench trials involving the City’s gun ordinance. From there, I served the public as an Assistant Attorney General under Lisa Madigan, leading a team of 20 and securing over $18 million in restitution for consumers victimized by fraud, predatory lending, and deceptive practices.
As an Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County, I managed over 60 civil rights cases, achieving favorable outcomes in high-profile matters and protecting taxpayers from multimillion-dollar liability. Later, as Chief Attorney for the Chicago Transit Authority, I led a litigation team of eight, handling more than 80 cases at a time, trying complex jury cases, and saving the public tens of millions of dollars in potential damages. I earned my education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Thomas Cooley Law School, and I am a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Today, I serve as Counsel at a respected litigation firm, representing businesses, manufacturers, and public entities across the Chicago area.
But my work doesn’t stop at the courthouse steps. I’ve worked to educate voters in underserved communities, mentored aspiring Black women attorneys, and helped organize job fairs to create opportunity and equity. I was the first African American elected to the ISBA’s “Under 37” Board seat for Cook County and currently serve on the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association. I’ve also served nine years on the ARDC Hearing Board, upholding the ethical standards of our profession.
I bring to the bench not only trial-tested experience, but a deep belief in fairness, accountability, and compassion. I’ve seen firsthand how the legal system can empower — or fail — those who rely on it. That’s why I’m running for Judge in the 17th Judicial Subcircuit: to make sure the courtroom is a place where justice works for everyone.
With your support, I’m ready to continue doing what I’ve always done — putting my work experience to work for the people of Cook County.
